Client: Collagin
Brief: Design a label for the new Lavender & Elderflower flavour edition.
Work: Create a new label for the latest flavour to join the Collagin range, Lavender & Elderflower, ensuring it looks like part of the family. A beautiful brand to work on.
Client: Muddy Waters
Brief: Redesign the story books from Muddy Waters and create an activity book.
Work: What a fantastic project to be involved in. Hand painted illustrations were the starting point for this brief. Cutting out elements and introducing new fonts and layouts really brought the stories to life. Never a dull day with these characters looking back at me. Profile pages also added interest to the young readers, highlighting the character’s personalities.
Client: Horsebox Waffle Co.
Brief: Create a brand for the newly formed company, one which sells waffles at festivals and street food fairs.
Work: What a fun project this was! I created the logo by placing a waffle pattern into a horses nose – a character which was named Wilfred. He gives real character and personality to the brand and can be seen peering out of the horsebox and on other materials. Horse shoes help frame the logo within the roundel, and give a subtle nod to the horse theme.
Client: Golden Acre Foods
Brief: Refresh the Elsinore brand, a supplier of premium seafood products to the UK Market. Rework their logo (but keep its crown) and design packaging to sit in Waitrose.
Work: I explored fonts, holding devices, colours and the crown, all of which help give the brand a confident look and feel. The gold and black also help reflect the premium quality of the product. The packaging needed to stand out on shelf, so I introduced striking bands of colour and, working with an illustrator, added illustrations to the panels to help differentiate each product.
Client: Onist
Brief: Choc Shot Packaging Design
Work: Design the new Choc Shot packaging for the latest product in the Onist range. An on-the-go snack available in three different flavours.
Clients: Various
Brief: Logo design.
Work: This page showcases a variety of logos.
The Boxing Works: A clever use of boxing equipment takes on the ‘o’ of boxing and gives this a striking identity.
Twelve in 12: I love the simplicity of this one and the clever use of the 12 within the word. An in-house project, where the company I worked for offered 12 identities a year, to support start up companies.
Working in Partnership: An in-house identity for AutoTrader, the wheel tying in with the brand and the people within it highlighting the partnership element.
Fleet Hire: A simple concept for a company who offers fleet vehicles, a strategically placed chevron nods at movement and travel.
Client: Bloom Bites
Brief: Packaging and presentation design.
Work: Another fun project for littlejen! With the logo already created for this newly formed company (who create healthy, sustainably sourced, delicious meals for 6-11 year olds), the packaging, postcard and presentation were up for grabs, and how delighted was I to work on this.
Client: VitrA
Brief: Design a collection of three brochures - Designer, Bathroom and Commercial. The only elements that needed to remain were the VitrA logo and their typeface.
Work: This was a great project to get my teeth into. I introduced a sophisticated colour palette to work within each brochure and designed several layouts to reflect the products. I then handed to an artworker to roll out, a process which I oversaw.
Client: Casa de Tapas
Brief: Create a logo for the revamp of a restaurant.
Work: Another lovely little project to be involved in. Casa de Tapas meaning the House of Tapas, gave me a clear direction for this one. Spanish colours brought this logo to life, a strong, eye-catching brand.
Client: Coca-Cola
Brief: Create a booklet to present to stakeholders which emphasises Coca-Cola Europe’s strong stance on protecting the environment during the life cycle of their products. The client wanted the bottle to tell its story throughout the booklet.
Work: I originally named the booklet ‘Message in a Bottle’ to highlight the story element. I also introduced die-cut bottles to the cover and section pages to reflect the bottle’s message. Behind each cut out I sat an image which reflected the section.
Award: This won the CSR/Environment report category in the Robert Horne Shout Awards, an annual showcase for innovative and creative work.
Client: Tyrrells
Brief: Concept work - create pack designs to sit within Starbucks, but these were to be unbranded by Tyrrells – as a result there were no guideline restrictions.
Work: A great open brief where I was able to explore colours, textures and typography, all of which helped highlight the flavours/crisp type within the pack.
Client: JCB
Brief: Design a collection of booklets and case studies for JCB Asset Finance.
Work: I created the layouts, introduced colour bars to hold pull out copy, and used uppercase to emphasise the heavy nature that JCB is known for. I also introduced a deboss on the booklet covers which nodded towards the heavy machinery. That is, a tractor tyre tread was used on the agriculture booklet and an excavator tyre tread for the construction version.
Client: Pan Consulting
Brief: Create an identity for Pan Consulting, a go-to catering consultancy if you are tendering or looking to improve your facilities and food offering.
Work: Another new start up means another exciting project for me. The client wanted their brand to be fresh and friendly, so I introduced a bright, bold colour palette and a warm approach to the icon, by making the pans take on the look of people.
Client: VitrA
Brief: Create a reception/waiting area for VitrA’s Didcot office.
Work: I suggested using actual products to dress the room – VitrA WCs for seats and their towel rails to act as magazine racks. When the client said yes I couldn’t believe it – what a great result!
Client: JJ
Brief: Create an Email and Invite to send to guests for the Summer Boat Party.
Work: Another fun project to work on. I decided to send out a branded toy boat which held the invite details. A talking point and something which stood out amongst the the mail.
Client: Tyrrells
Brief: Using their current style and guidelines, create a range of materials.
Work: From online banner ads to FSDU’s and adverts. Here you can see how one theme (TorTyrrells) works across the elements.
Client: FloralCelli
Brief: Create an identity for a local florist.
Work: A lovely little project to work on. The brief was open, every designer’s dream, the only item in play being the name, FloralCelli.
